You probably don't usually ask yourself too many questions before you decide to write a blog post.
The question you may first ask yourself is what will you write about, followed by how you are going to research it, and what you will write.
Presented below are some more questions to consider which you may have already considered but it's useful to add to what we already know.
1. What am I going to write about?
If you want other people to read your blog post and get something out of it, you need to think about your audience.
This isn't only the audience of the blog post you are going to write to, you have to consider your blog's audience.
The blog post can be difficult to write if you haven't been motivated to write about a particular topic.
But the best thing to do is get started and start writing.
The myth that you have to have some well-planned strategy to write a blog does not work.
The trick to writing good blog posts is to read and read more, and then write and write more.
You may not know what to write but the internet is there and there are many tools available like Google Keyword Planner, Uber Suggest, and Ask The Public.
You know your blog's niche, so start with that and search Google.
When I plug affiliate marketing into Uber Suggest I receive all kinds of long tail keywords and then all that is needed is to pick one with search volume and start brainstorming.
If you choose a long tail keyword that you are not familiar with either choose another one or start reading and learning.
2. How Do I Write My Blog Post
You should set yourself a limit of twenty minutes to research your topic.
And scan other people's articles to find information to motivate yourself and find content ideas.
Don't copy or plagiarize, what you want to do is get ideas for content, and produce your own work.
The idea is to get your thoughts printed and then to read and reread, and edit your story until your article is polished enough to be published on your blog.
3. What voice should I use when writing my blog?
People don't want to hear any voice other than your own, which is why many bloggers write as they speak and put a personal touch on their blog posts so that the story is interesting and gives the audience a feeling that the blogger is talking to them.
4. What is the easiest way to produce a long-form blog post?
Short blog posts are good, which shows that the blogger has made an effort to put pen to paper to make a regular post, but it is long-form blog posts that receive the most shares, best search engine rankings, and most read by readers.
It's good that you have written a long-form article, but it's essential that you don't write long form posts for the sake of the possible rewards.
The content must be useful and be content that the reader can apply to their own lives.
The best way to produce a long-form post that contains good content is to produce short stories by asking yourself questions and answering them.
5. Do I Really Want To Share My Personal Life With The World?
When writing a blog post you may sometimes apply the question to yourself and share personal moments about yourself and your life with your readers.
What's important to know is once you have posted to the internet, what gets put on the internet stays on the internet.
If you have written something about a friend in a moment of being entranced with creating an article or blog post, delete it from your computer now.
6. Is It Important To Include Images With Your Blog Posts
It's good to add images to support the content of your posts, as it is pleasing to the eye.
If you present readers with 5 pages of solid text with no white space, the reader may look at it and think to themselves "I'm not going to read all that".
The only way to capture readers in these circumstances is to have a voice that is casual and friendly, and that draws readers in.
A blog post with images tells a story and engages the reader as we think in pictures.
You are not limited to Flickr images, royalty free images, or stock photos, images can be anything from info-graphics or screenshots or even your own photos.
7. Should I Post Now?
You may have written your blog post and believe you have completed it, but you should not post it straight away.
Why?
The reason is if you read and edit your post now you will read your post and feel you know the information well.
And the problem is that you won't pick up on poorly written sentences, spelling mistakes, and other mistakes.
If you wait until the next day, you will have fresh eyes and will be able to analyze your work and edit it correctly.
You will be able to decide whether you actually meant to write what you wrote.
8. How Am I Going To Market My Blog Post?
There are many ways to market your blog posts, the most obvious being to share links on social media.
Jeff Bullas tells us that his most successful way to promote his blog posts is to share them on Twitter.
He goes on to say that sharing the blog post's link on Facebook is a must, as Facebook has at least a billion active users.
If you are creating good content, the most read bloggers say you will eventually get discovered and your posts will get widely shared.
It takes a while to build an audience for your blog just as it takes time to build a following on Twitter, Facebook and Google +, but you will get there if you are consistent and don't give up.
