How to Find a Profitable Niche

What is a Niche?

You may decide you want to blog about dog training, this isn't a niche though.

Dog training is a topic.

Niches are more specialized. An example of a niche would be; "train your Jack Russel to obey you".

How Can I find a Profitable Niche?

Many internet marketing tutors say that where there is competition there's money to be made.

If you search for dog training and you find 38 million searches, then there's plenty of people searching for dog training and there's money to be made.

You may think the Christian holiday Christmas would be a good niche

Yes, there is a big 3 month lead up to Christmas, but for the other 9 months of the year, you are not making any money.

The kind of niches you need to promote, are what are called evergreen niches.

People want to buy these products when they feel they want them or need them.

In some niches, people are really desperate for a solution to their problem. An example of this is the desire to get rid of severe acne/pimples.

How do I find if people are interested in buying products in my chosen niche?

A good idea would be to browse through Amazon.com, looking in the books section.

If people are interested in buying books about dog training, then they must be interested in reading and paying for more information.

A sure way to find a profitable niche is to look for products that have 10 or more reviews.

For every review, you can gauge that 1,000 people have bought the product.

So obviously if a book on Canon Rebel Camera has 200 reviews, this would be a fairly profitable niche.
